In 2013, AQ Rate verified the Group as a status three (3) contributor with a 110% Procurement Recognition Level. In 2009 IMPERIAL Logistics’ rating improved further with a higher overall score of 70.61. Topping this, NERA has certified IMPERIAL Logistics in November 2010 as a status four (4) contributor with a total score of 71.23.

The Black shareholding of 27.39% in IMPERIAL originates from two BEE transactions; LEREKO Mobility which is a broad based ownership scheme and UKHAMBA Holdings which is an employee share ownership scheme.
Based on our current Level 3 (110%) BEE Recognition status, the value-add status enhances our BEE recognition Level to 137%, which is higher than a Level 1 status Supplier. To ensure that we contribute to a sustainable, equitable society and economic transformation of South Africa, our compliance efforts are aligned specifically to the Transport Industry BEE Charter for to the Road Freight sub-sector code for B-BBEE.
We have been an official Value-Adding Supplier since 2008. This means that we are registered as a vendor under the Value-Added Tax 1991, our Net Profit before tax summed with our Total Labour Cost exceeds 25% of the value of our Total Revenue. So if you are doing business with us, your Rand spent will be multiplied by 1.25 first, before applying the relevant contribution status.
Our BEE Recognition status has improved from a Level four (4) contributor in 2008, 2009 and 2010 with improving points within the Level 4 range. From November 2011, 2012 and recently 2013 our BEE Recognition status moved to Level three (3) BEE Recognition Level.
